ABOUT

I am an associate professor in Information Design, Faculty of Communication Studies, Mount Royal University. In 2000, I graduated from NSCAD University (BDes Hon.) and, in 2003, from the University of Alberta, with a terminal masters (MDes) degree in visual communication design. My active research interests are in the areas of decision support systems, visual communication, interface and information design, and text visualization.

In January 2009, I joined a PhD program at the University of Alberta in Computing Science & Humanities Computing, under the supervision of Dr. Walter Bischof and Dr. Stan Ruecker.

“Geared Decisions: Experimenting with Decision Support Visualizations”, will be presented at the
7th International Design and Emotion Conference in Chicago.

May 2010
I completed the course requirement for my PhD studies. Candidacy exam has been scheduled for the end of August.
